Democratic State Rep. Terra Costa Howard announces lengthy list of endorsements

LOMBARD – Democratic State Rep. Terra Costa Howard today released a long list of endorsements by Illinois organizations, demonstrating the broad and varied base of support she has earned in her two terms in the General Assembly.

“I’m honored to have the support of so many well-regarded Illinois organizations,” said Costa Howard, who is running in the newly redrawn 42nd District. “It means a great deal to me that these groups recognize the work that I am doing to protect reproductive health rights, enact commonsense gun safety laws, advocate for workers, and improve public education.”

"Terra Costa Howard has always been a strong advocate for reproductive rights,” said Brigid F. Leahy, Vice President of Public Policy for Planned Parenthood Illinois Action. “She was instrumental in passing the Reproductive Health Act, which protects our freedom to make personal health care decisions without government interference. We are proud to support Terra because she will fight for the freedoms of all of us.”

"Terra Costa Howard has been a brave, relentless advocate for commonsense gun safety laws, and we need her courageous voice in the General Assembly," said Kathleen Sances, President and CEO of G-PAC (Gun Violence Prevention PAC.)

“The IEA is recommending Rep. Terra Costa Howard because of her deep support of public education,” said Illinois Education Association President Kathi Griffin.  “During the pandemic, she helped our education support professionals gain coverage under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).  She took the initiative to make sure that our most vulnerable, front-line workers were given the ability to care not only for themselves but for their loved ones. Rep. Costa Howard is a champion of the rights for all education employees. She values and respects the great work our members do every day, and we are happy to say she is educator approved.”

As of Sept. 26, Costa Howard’s candidacy to represent the 42nd District has been endorsed by:
